Phosphate Rocks: A Review of Sedimentary and Igneous Occurrences in Morocco

چکیده

Phosphate rocks are a vital resource for world food supply and security. They the primary raw material phosphoric acid fertilizers used in agriculture, increasingly considered to be potential source of rare earth elements. occur either as sedimentary deposits or igneous ores associated with alkaline rocks. In both cases, genesis high-grade phosphate results from complex concentration mechanisms involving several (bio)geochemical processes. Some these ore-forming processes remain poorly understood subject scientific debate. Morocco holds world’s largest rocks, also possesses complexes bear that still largely underexplored. This paper summarizes main geological features driving phosphates, discusses their global reserve/resource situation. It provides comprehensive review published data information on Moroccan phosphates. reveals significant knowledge gaps lack data, inter alia, regarding geochemistry phosphates basin-scale correlations. Owing unique situation market, they clearly deserve more thorough studies may, turn, help constrain future resources and/or reserves, answer outstanding questions

Magma Composition and Igneous Rocks

Introduction In the following chapters we will find that nearly all of the varied aspects of volcanism are either directly or indirectly controlled by the chemical composition of magma and the rate at which it cools and solidifies. If you are to understand and appreciate subsequent discussions of volcanoes and related volcanic phenomena, it is essential that you have a good grasp of the basic c...

Sedimentation and Sedimentary Rocks

Sedimentary rocks are one component of the modern threefold classification of rocks. They derive from the lithification of sediments, which are produced in basically two ways: by the mechanical deposition of grains derived from the alteration of other rocks (detrital or clastic rocks), or as chemical precipitates or grains formed organically or inorganically from an aqueous solution. The whole ...

A paleointensity technique for multidomain igneous rocks

[1] We developed a paleointensity technique to account for concave-up Arai diagrams due to multidomain (MD) contributions to determine unbiased paleointensities for 24 trial samples from site GA-X in Pleistocene lavas from Floreana Island, Galapagos Archipelago. The main magnetization carrier is fine-grained low-titanium magnetite of variable grain size. We used a comprehensive back-zero-forth ...
